Gastric Bypass Surgery

Have you tried to lose weight through diet and exercise but were unsuccessful? Looking for a lasting, affordable solution to obesity?

Gastric bypass surgery is a safe, effective, and affordable way for you to lose weight and keep it off.

Our experienced bariatric surgeons in Tijuana, Mexico, provide life-changing gastric bypass surgery at a price you can afford.

Gastric Bypass An Effective Weight Loss Surgery

/

Gastric bypass, or Roux-en-Y, works by dividing the stomach into two parts and rerouting a portion of your small intestine. The small stomach restricts the amount of food you can consume, and the shortened intestinal tract limits the number of calories that can be absorbed. Combined, these contribute to dramatic weight loss.

How Does Gastric Bypass Surgery Help Me Lose Weight?

Gastric bypass surgery reduces the size of your stomach to a small pouch, limiting how much you can eat. Additionally, the gastric procedure shortens your small intestine and changes how you absorb nutrients.

Improve Your Health and Quality of Life

Rapid Weight Loss

Diet and exercise alone can take several years to show results. In some cases, they do not produce results at all. Meanwhile, a gastric bypass encourages rapid weight loss by restricting how much you can eat and how many calories your body absorbs

Dramatic Results

This procedure can help you lose 60-80% of your excess body weight. The American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery found that 90% of bariatric patients maintain long-term weight loss

Better Overall Health

Studies have found that gastric bypass surgery can reduce or reverse obesity-related health issues, such as sleep apnea, diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, and stress on your joints. After surgery, you could feel better both inside and out and increase your lifespan

Patients From the U.S. Choose Us FOR THEIR BARIATRIC SURGERY

This facility is an example of what medical treatment everywhere should be like. The grounds are very secure and clean. The clerical staff was friendly and cheerful. The nursing staff was outstanding. They were exceptionally attentive and prompt when paged. The doctor was not at rushed during any of the pre/post op consultations. He was friendly and clear with all the answers to our questions. His work was impeccable. The entire operation appears well organized and efficient. I would highly recommend this hospital to anyone needing their services. Seriously impressive!

Am I a Candidate For Gastric Bypass Surgery?

Most patients who are struggling with being severely overweight or obese are good candidates for Roux-en-Y bariatric surgery. The only way to know for sure is to schedule a consultation with one of our Tijuana, Mexico, doctors. Some things that could affect your candidacy are:

BMI

Because a gastric bypass is a more invasive option than other bariatric procedures, it is usually reserved for patients with a body mass index (BMI) of 50 or higher. If you have a lower BMI, gastric sleeve surgery may be a better option.

Pregnancy

Pregnant patients are not good candidates for bariatric surgery. If you are planning to become pregnant, we recommend waiting until you give birth before considering a gastric bypass.

Your Commitment

A gastric bypass gives you the necessary tools to lose weight, but it takes a commitment from you to keep the weight off. Living a healthy lifestyle with a well-balanced diet and routine exercise will allow you to experience the lasting benefits of gastric bypass.

The entire laparoscopic procedure and initial recovery at our Tijuana, Mexico, location is completed in one week.

Making You Comfortable

You will be placed under general anesthesia by our board-certified anesthesiologist. This ensures that you stay asleep and do not feel any pain during the procedure.

Making the Incisions

Once you are asleep, our bariatric surgeon will make four to six small incisions across your abdomen.

Dividing the Stomach

Using laparoscopic tools, your surgeon will create the stomach pouches, one small and one large. The small stomach pouch will hold only around an ounce of food, so you will feel full from eating less.

Rerouting the Intestine

The surgeon will then bypass several feet of small intestine and connect the remaining portion to the end of the pouch. This allows food to move directly from your new stomach pouch to the small intestine and restricts the number of calories you absorb.

Closing the Incisions

Our bariatric surgery team will then suture your incisions closed. The entire laparoscopic procedure can typically be completed in under two hours.

Focusing on Recovery

You will spend the next four nights recovering at our hospital. Each room is furnished with a companion bed, Netflix, and a private bathroom for your privacy and comfort.
